commercial product and advertising photography

My interest in photography began back in the 1980's . I started out by taking classes at Grand Rapids Community College and soon began getting requests to do weddings, portraits and other freelance jobs.  In 1987, I saw an ad for a photo studio job at Meijer Inc.  I applied for,  got the job,  and stayed with Meijer for thirteen years.

In the beginning we shot everything with view cameras and 4x5 and 8x10 sheet film.  That only lasted a few years.   Meijer was one of the first companies in the country to embrace the "new" technology of digital photography. I had the opportunity to learn a great deal about commercial photography and digital imaging while working for Meijer. 

In April of 2000 I started my own commercial studio which was located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids.... something I wanted from the beginning.  I've relocated a few times since then.  Now, most of the time, I work on location or at my home studio in Cedar Springs, MI.

I've been a commercial photographer for over 20 years now and can't imagine doing anything else. I love the challenges that come with each new project.

Over the years, my client base has grown considerably and I've had the opportunity to meet and work with a wonderful group of people. I look forward to future growth, new faces, new ideas...
